The Iverson Family Reunion this summer was held in the Outer Banks, NC. We have a great time playing on the beach, catching crabs in traps and with chicken off the pier, kayaking, surfing, body boarding, and (of course) playing board games at night. We even were able to go to Jamestown, VA, the first settlement in the New World, Kitty Hawk, NC where the Wright Brothers flew the first airplane, and Yorktown, VA, the place of the final battle of the Revolutionary War.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the trip was getting there flying on buddy passes with JetBlue. Though this is definitely the economy way to fly, we flew from Utah to San Francisco to Boston to Washington, D.C. In all, our trip took nearly 22 hours, including the red eye from San Fran, wherein not all that much sleep was obtained. If you've never flown on a buddy pass, you may ask why so many stops all over the place? Well, buddy passes fly free, except for airport taxes, but you have the lowest priority of anyone on the flights, so they really have to be available or you don't get on the plane. It all worked out though and we were glad to have the passes!
Here's a slideshow of all our pictures so you can have a good idea of what we saw while we were there.
